So this is my first group that actually grouped instead of patterning. .615 lead ball with .010 patch lubed with my bee wax, Vaseline, olive oil lube. 110 grains 2F Old E powder.

Here is my last PATTERN. This is how i have been shooting till today in the groups above. I have been making a mountain out of a mole hill. Too much reading and not enough shooting. Today i learned 2 things ... 1- don't overthink a flintlock. And 2nd ... don't have your cock at full cock notch when trying to knapp your flint ... you can get bit as below when the cock slips off the notch and your first two fingers get in the way as shown below.

All in all i have [ i think and hope] come around the corner with this flinter. Has taken 3 outings and 60 or 70 balls. I was very near throwing in the towel when in aggravation i threw caution to the wind and instead of overthingking all the variables i have read about i would just shoot it and not think too much about all the info darting around in my mind from all the reading i did to NOT be a newby with the flintlocks. ... HA HA.
What a wonderful time. I think i may have awakened a monster.
