Nothing for a long time just in case the wife reads these post they breed in the safe thats why I need another safe.
The latest project gun just arrived in the mail. A "Fields Patent 1877" side lever Martini in .450 Number 1 Carbine. It has a 21" barrel with Henry rifling (in good condition) and English clip on loop style sling swivels. A friend had a Martini chambered in the same cartridge a few years ago which he sold, but he was good enough to donate 30 rounds of shortened and re-formed brass (made from .50-90 Sharps) that I can try in this one. (And he'll get to shoot it too of course.) From what I've read apparently the Lyman 330 grain Gould Express bullet works well in this cartridge and I have that mould plus a 300 grain RCBS mould so will try those two boolits to start.

Reverend Al, your guns are always so normal and boring- NOT! Thanks for sharing. Someday you'll buy a repeater and we'll need a nitro pill.....

LOL ... yeah, I like weird and wonderful and just a little bit different. Been weeding down a bunch of my Winchester lever actions that I haven't shot in years and some old military bolt actions and replacing them with single shots. Haven't seen a novel and interesting repeater lately that has caught my interest ...
Hi all. Day before yesterday my CMP Special Field Grade '06 arrived. Original SA receiver (SN: 97###) is slightly pitted but re-Parkerized, otherwise, it is a brand new M1 Garand. Also took advantage of their 1/2 price sale on Match ammo (with Lapua brass) with purchase of a rifle, so I got 2 cases (100 ea) for a really good price. I'm betting this one will also shoot cast as well as my others. Ed

Nice, Ed, very nice.

I finally got a m1 garand, its a cmp gun made in 1955 and in very good shape.

I don't have it yet but I just bought a Henry Small Game lever gun in 22wmr from GB. This model has a rear peep sight which I like. Never owned a Henry but have read many good reports about them.
Reverend Al, that's one sweet rifle ya got there.
Rev Al.... I love the looks of your latest single shot. Like you, I tend to gravitate towards the slightly different rifles.
You did good!
1858 clone
Done a little work on the action shoots decent hoping the next will be a 10 bore front stuffer
Target Model of 1950, in .44 Special.Attachment 241251
Made late 1955.
The Hogues were removed and replaced by smooth S&W wood grips prior to delivery, but I can't get my phone to send pictures at the moment, so this will have to do.
Got it to send from the phone. Finally. Now to see if I can upload it.Attachment 241252
My father had one he bought in 1963. He gave it to one of my brothers. Who lives in Europe. So, it's actually still with my dad here in the states.
I was just looking for a shooter .44 Special. This is what the friend who sold me this one offered. It's nicer than my dad's.
I'm happy. :happy dance:
