Yup! .38 Special Hand Ejector.
DON'T shoot any +P in it, standard lead loads only.
I am to old to shoot + P :-P
I +P at night. I'm old too.

Nice gun; DO WANT! But have something else I can shoot, at least.
They are wonderful smooth and accurate vintage revolvers. I had man a dozen or more over the years and still have two of them. Everybody is correct that you will beat them to pieces in short order with higher than normal pressure.
I take it down one step more and load all my plinking and range 38 Specials with 3/Bullseye over your prefered 150 - 160 grain cast bullet. This is below the full snort level and are just as much fun to shoot.
Here are my remaing two a 1913 and 1931 production.
Very nice. Not many things made today with such attention to detail.... At least not that I can afford ;-)

There is a problem I have when I check these threads; it gets me to thinking. Just wondering if your pre-10's shoot to point of aim with 3 grains of Bullseye and a 160 grain SWC. And then I was thinking about my old war horse Victory, and how I might just see how it shoots with that load.

It gets me drooling since I don't have one, or an M10, sigh. Youse folks are definitely enablers LOL
Of course like a lot of us here I didn't buy a box full of PD trade ins when they were $125 each 20 yrs ago. Of course I wish I did. The Original M&P is my 2nd favorite S&W revolver behind the Combat Masterpiece. If I was limited to one handgun, the m10 4" would suit fine.

Exactly, that is why I designed this target; a variation on the Brit tin hat target:
