First day off in awhile. Gas checked 1000 22s with sages aluminum gas checks. Seem to hang up a bit more than the Hornadys, requiring an already lubed boolit to run through the Star more often to lube the throat of the die. Bought some Sages copper checks too. Lubed 1000 9mm, loaded 200 9mm. Then quit and seeded the backyard before the rain started.
prepped some 45-70 brass .
Loaded 150 44 specials 240 swc on red dot on LCT and deprimed 50 45 acp
I cast more boolits. Lol, perfect boolits. Oh and learned what happens when your sprue plate gets loose.
Loaded a few boxes of 38 wcf that I had lying around!
A buddy of mine makes stands for steel plates. I'm going to buy two of them and his new stands are what he calls "experimental".
I've seen the prototype and it is as solid as you get...
Anyway, we are going "test" and shoot various calibers going up to full tilt 44 mag. Assuming it doesn't fall over and die, we'll back up a ways and then I'll see if we can't get the target stand to fall over and die with these (loaded 40 this evening):

I'm 99% sure it'll do fine.
Tore down and cleaned a break top 38 S&W I inherited from my father in-law ,I think it is a model 2 but don't know enough about them to be sure.
Anyway after cleaning all the the crud out of it it locks up tight now , a few pits in the bore but good rifling ,most of the nickel is gone , but it looks like it would be safe to shoot.
I powder coated 250 Custom 220g 10mm bullets. Ten sized and loaded up fifty.

I have a S&W Lemonsqueezer (similar to Mod 2) I inherited years ago. As long as you check them over very thoroughly you should be fine. Mine had very tight lockup and nothing was loose once cleaned.
Do be very careful though cause they did have a high rate of critical failure. If in doubt, have a professional gunsmith (if you aren’t one yourself) look it over.
Thanks for the advice , I am a shade tree parts replacer/cleaner not a gun Smith
The cylinder was not locking before cleaning but now all locks up tight seems to function really well.
I don't know if I will ever shoot it. I don't have 38 s&w dies but who knows I may get bored and get the stuff to load a few rounds for it.
If you have 38 Super dies, they will work just fine
Mike
Loaded 70 rounds of 44-40 with blue dot and, the lee 429-240-2R. which drops at 255. It’s anice 1200fps load tested through my almost fossilized crony and got my bday present today

Stoked no more guessing
Smelted down wheel weights into about 30lbs of ingots. I have probably 60lbs of weight left to go.
