Plain extractor won't do rimless. 9x18 MAK also higher pressure than I would want to put in a soft iron, BP action.
.38 wadcutters run about 14,000 psi and are perfect for it.

I suppose .366 diameter case bullets for the 9x18 would work, but factory .38 wadcutter shoots to the original sights and I'm not sure that a lighter bulet would. The HBWC is accurate too!
And even 158-grain LRN service loads aren't bad.

This is my Belgium made miniature Comblain action 410 shotgun.
Made sometime in the 1880's. I shoot it with shortened handloads as it is chambered to less than 2 1/2" . It is a true falling block design.

This low wall was purchased in Denver Colorado in 1897 by my great grand father. it has been in my family since then. It is a fun little gun to shoot. 38/40 caliber.
