Lube Stop Ring Boolits
I have a boolit for a german target rifle I (ithink an old single shot running boar rifle) which has tapered rings infront of the stop ring. i would like to know if these grooves need lube. I know the rings below the stop ring need lube. Any ideas are welcome. The rifle is chambred in 8.15x46r. it is a fine looking rifle.

If shooting black powder they should be lubed. Not absolutely necessary with smokeless, but try both ways and see which groups better. Depends on your lube. I use 50-50 olive oil and beeswax with 1 to 25 tin-lead alloy and case filled gently, without compression of RL7.

If the rings above the stop ring are not groove diameter …. No
