Had anyone tried adding a light abrasize (like Comet or Ajax) to powdercoat to make firelapping boolits for rough barrels? My M&P 9mm could use such a treatment if it works. Anyone try this?

I've used the valve grinding compound from automotive stores in my big bore air rifles with great success, Mr Tate who builds the PBBA air rifles told me this works great, you can also use the JB paste from Brownells it just costs more.
You'd have to mix the Comet with PC and bake it on. I can't see you getting much of an even coat with it, but it'd be worth a try if you have a really rough barrel. Not much to lose by trying. I think you'd be better off filling the lube grooves with a lapping compound.
Simply use the desired powder and roll the bullet on glass or steel plates to impregnate them with the compound. PC'd bullets should pick it up fine in this manner. If spraying on I would be concerned with the nozzle on the spary gun and needle valve being "lapped" from this being pushed thru them under pressure.
I shake and bake. But i do like the idea of rolling the abrasive into the PC.
You may be able to coat and start baking when the PC starts to melt take them out of the oven and dust with your compound if its the dry type then finish baking not sure what will happen but may work.
