Score!!
Mods: if wrong forum please move to the correct location.
I’m a truck driver. I’m sitting in the truck and there is a pile of trash by the dock. I’m looking and it seemed to have two lead weights laying there. About ten pounds or so. I helped take out the trash. Attachment 265220

What do you think they are? Purpose I mean.

Some sort of counter weight? Used in testing of something. Must be for testing a blast door, one that opens in an overpressure situation?Attachment 265222
It’s says “press 0.509 PSIG”. That isn’t much pressure.
-
No not alone it isn’t much pressure but I’ve heard of pressure tested fuel and water tanks on ships popping when just a half a psi too much pressure is applied. I haven’t personally observed a tank hydro in years but if I recall corrected they get tested to 1.5-2 psi. Too much and they pop because those pounds per square inch are applied over a huge surface.
Never seen such a thing.
Very interesting find. Serial numbered too!

Matched set.
One of two
Two of two.

Could be weights to generate that pressure in a test cell of some type. That weight applied to a piston of set diameter generates the specified pressure used to calibrate an old school sensor.
At any rate, I have some 18 inch x 24 inch cone inch thick counterweight plates. I believe they may have a bit of tin, as they will cast a decently filled out bullet. I just call it plain lead. Good score, and you kept that terribleness out of the landfill:)

Good find ! Free lead is the best lead.

Looks like the weights to a vacuum/vent device used on an above-ground storage tank. Either way, good score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
