30 grains under a 311-291 in a 30-30 shoots pretty well.
40.3gr under a 150grn Hornady SP in my 300 savage, does well.
Anybody use 4064 in 444 Marlin? I have good load combinations using IMR4198 and RL7 but was gifted an almost full 8# jug. My favorite CB is a 265gn.
50 years ago the Speer manual listed 50gr. 4064 in the 30-06 with 180 gr. bullets, as it still does in Speer #14. Not knowing any different back then I swapped in 180gr. old style Nosler partitions and used then for all these years. Because it is over the Nosler manuals I have switched to 4350. I sure killed a lot of moose with that old load. Never had any issues with it. Also used 70 gr. 4064 in my .375 H&H with the older 270 gr. Nosler partitions. Also a moose/grizzly bear getter. I read that 70 gr. 4064 with a 270 gr. bullet in .375 H&H was one of Jack O'Conner's favorites.
48Grains under a 165gr bullet of your choice is supposed to be the best for 30-06 according to Jack O'Connor
I actually use a bit more in my 30-06 rifles 49.5 or so.
but I've always considered it one of the best propellants for the 30-06
I use 41.7gr under a nosler or seirra 175 gr bullet in LC brass in my .308. Decent load but only going about 2550fps out of my 24" barrel.
If anybody has loads for .243 with 55gr projectile id appreciate it.
Thankyou that pretty well mimicks the h4895 load I started with as far as powder charges/ velocity too bad I already went through a lot of effort to get it Shooting with h4895. But I’m trying to cut down on how many powders I buy and Imr 4064 is great for my .308 already.
I use 42.6g of IMR 4064 with 175g NosHPBT in the 308 and 36g with 100g semi points in 243. My brother was using 42.4g in his 308 with 175 SMKs. I havent tried it in anything else yet.
Great to read. I have a nib rifle of the same variety and caliber I have been considering/debating taking out from under the bed and to the range lately...
As for my favorite load, 44 gr of IMR 4064 pushing a 308 155 gr Nosler CC has provided great results in my 110fp.

49.5 /4064/130 gr/270 Winchester.
The classic load is around 60 grains 4831, but my old model 70 shot 4064 like a tack.
Truth is, it is not my load, but a load from one of Jack O'Conner's hunting books.
4064 is one of my all time favorite powders, but in a pinch, I would choose 4895 in rifles, and Unique in handguns.
Those two powders are really all any shooter ever needs.
48.0 grs of IMR4064 behind the 165gr bullet of your choice in the 30-06 was advocated as the perfect load for the 30-06 according to Jack O'Connor, personally I've always preferred 49.5grains in my rifles
