Prayer is the best medicine. My wife had cancer surgery in 2014. Before she went in, I saw a painting on the wall that I took a picture of. I showed my wife the picture of the nurses and doctors on the operating theater, with Jesus guiding the surgeon's hand. It brought her comfort.
2 weeks ago, my grandson had surgery to repair a double hernia he was born with on May 29. Long and strong prayer chain that day and the following days. His twin brother was not borne broken, thankfully. They heal so quickly when young, not like us older folk. Still, the most powerful medicine is prayer. My prayer is for speedy and proper healing.

Again, thanks all! She is in a lot of pain. She goes back in on Tuesday to get checked for infections and to get a hard cast. I am not so sure about that, the swelling is something else.

Prayers given.
This forum has some fine members. The generous unsolicited offers of help when my son faced major surgery were a tremendous extension of kindness and a source of great comfort.
I truly wish the best for your daughter and all who know and love her.

Keeping her in my prayers. Hope the swelling subsides soon.

Hey all... thanks. She is now in the first hard cast waiting on swelling to go down. No infections, but still quite a bit of pain. She will get her second hard cast next Thursday. Doing nothing is killing her.
She is over the hump now! Only 5 to 8 weeks of crap left.

Get someone to teach her to knit. Useful hobby and will keep her busy.

Glad to hear it Matt, you have to keep them busy.

Praying with you for your daughter's healing. Amen.

Just saw this. A little late to the rodeo, but I'd like to add my prayers for Sam's healing and recovery.

Like Pine Baron I'm a little late but prayer for fast and good recovery .

I'm also late to the party but will offer my prayers for Sam.

Thanks all... Quick update... She is now in her fifth cast and healing fairly well. The incision where the bone was removed is pretty big. She is having fun doing acrobatics on crutches, makes me nervous as heck. Maybe in 2 weeks she will get moved to a boot and a couple of weeks after that maybe bearing a little weight. Good news, when the cast is off her foot now points forward like it should, not 30 degrees out like it did. Pain mostly gone and toes are ticklish now.
