Two pounds of this walked into the shop this week. Both are sealed with a press fit style metal lid. Any idea of vintage? Think it's still good?

Does it look normal & how does it smell ?
Haven't opened it and no one else has either.
Looks Early 60's Production if i had to guess.
I started reloading in 1961 and the cans were like that. If it has been stored properly, (cool and dry) it most likely is ok.
Kool, here's an 1980's vintage still sealedAttachment 201501
I used H335 in the 1970s that I bought retail that came out of a container like the one in swheeler's post.
Probably 60s. The earlier Hodgdon's were all orange as well as I recall. Started buying them about 1961 and they were all one color with the printing changed between types. 4831 a dollar a can. The guy had a 40 pound keg in back and he sold it by the pound in a doubled paper bag for $.40 a pound. Shot a bunch in my Springfield./beagle
My 1970's is round. Still use it as a dispenser can from the big 8lb jug.
I bought a 1 lb. can of 4831 military surplus packaged by Hogdon in 1964 for $1.79 and it is still on my bench for nostalgia sake and still has most of the powder left in it. It a orange can with yellow writing. james
That H335 is from the mid to late 60's. I shot a bunch of it from those cans. I was a dirty powder for my experience so I quit using it. I did well in a 308 till you reached top loads and then you BETTER stop.
