Value of a Lee loader in 6.5 jap?

Recently came into possession of a older set (cardboard box)but complete (from what I can see) Lee loader in 6.5 jap. I am going to be listing it to fund another mold but want to make sure I am asking a fair price and not low balling myself or overcharging someone. There doesn't seem to be a ton of information on this particular caliber in lee loaders. I know they can be collectible to some people.

I would suggest you start at $65 plus SFRB shipping. If it doesn't sell quickly, reduce the price by $5 per week until it sells. I'll bet you don't have to reduce the price.

that's probably a lot better than the 5$ I'd be [UN]willing to pay for one.

I have a lot of the Lee kits and have been getting a bit disgusted lately with the obvious attempt by certain sellers on line to inflate the prices. Ebay has multiple sellers listing these kits at stupid high prices. There is one who thinks every single zero error target kit is worth $200. And don't get me started on .410 or ten gage kits. Realistic price for the average kit is $20 to $40. I've seen some sell for $100 plus in rare cases but I'm tired of seeing average kits priced like holy grail items. 6.5 jap is not common but it has very low demand. Fair price would be $30 to $40 depending on if you want to sell it in a reasonable amount of time or not.

Ij just did a quick search and they are indeed hard to find but I also found two for sale at only $25 plus shipping.

Great reference!

From what I see, common calibers still in production are very affordable. Uncommon calibers can become rather expensive.

What they are worth depends a lot more on whether you are buying or selling. You don't get to set the price unless you believe in socialism and price controls. Whoever wants it the most sets the price. I personally don't think they are worth much either unless I am selling one. The most I ever got for one was about $80 for a .410 and about that much for a Mequon in .375 H&H. The least I have ever paid for one is $6 for a 9mm Luger.

The scarcity of the firearm using the Lee loader (or lack of scarcity!) also comes into play.
I have never seen a 221 Fireball and I don't know anyone that has one.
Lots of buyers and few sellers equals higher pricing.
Lots of sellers and few buyers equals lower pricing.
Do your homework first!

I've been very surprised by the prices. I ran a few on gb started them under $20 and most hit $50-$70.
