Bison Horn,Walnut Cap, fitting from Track of the Wolf

Very pretty. How is the base fitted/held in place?

There is an inner plug at the mouth of the horn. It is pegged in place with wood pegs. The walnut cap is glued to the inner plug but not to the horn.
