In the past I could click on the 4th icon in the 4th block, 2nd line above this message block (Screen) and upload a pic from my hard drive.
Now I get error message stating: the file name.JPG this is not a valid image file.

I've never been able to get that method to work. Instead, I upload my photo to Photobucket.com, then copy the "direct link" for the photo. In the message, paste the link between with no spaces. This forum will interpret the link and display the photo.
For example:
[im g]http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh7/Moscheutos/IMGP3230_zps110d7b0b.jpg[/im g]
gives
http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/h...ps110d7b0b.jpg
in you take out the space in between the "m" and "g."

or this
I used photobucket its pia but it works.
wish I could still insert from my HD like I used to.
I went similar issues on iBoats forum. I just successfully posted pics here from my confuser - after one fail. What worked was reducing the .jpg's size to below 270 KB. ...don't know the limit here on this forum, but that size will give a nice pic.
I've got Photoshop which makes resizing a snap. Else you can email the image to yourself and select the smallest size, save and post.
I use the Photoshop "Save for Web" application and get the images down to !5-30 KB without much loss in quality. I store all my forum photos on this site.
