Shimano TLD-25
Hi Folks,
I'm fairly new to offshore fishing. I've been doing it occassionally for quite a few years, but only got serious about it recently. This fall I got a nice boat rod and outfitted it with a Shimano TLD-25 and premium 50 pound test mono. So far I'm really enjoying the reel. We'll see how it does on mahi and yellowfin this summer.
Take care, Tom

I have one I use for general bottom fishing, mangrove snapper, grouper and whatever else is biting. Mine is spooled with 20lb test.

Most of my reels are Shimano but only for freshwater. I only fish the ocean when vacationing and I would like to do more of it. I like the Shimano Calcutta's & Chronarch for bass fishing and the crappie is taken on the spinning reels like Spirex & Syncopates. Great reels.

Try the Avet reels.
I have 3 of them and love them, I fish offshore with them.
