Elvis 61 in a 1:7?
Hey Everyone,
I am feeling good with my success loading .223 with j-words and am contemplating giving cast & PC'd boolits a try.
I am looking at the "Elvis" 61 grain mold. Is anyone here having any luck with that one?
I have rifles with 1:7 and 1:9 barrels and am concerned about the cast playing well in the 1:7 barrel.
Also, is anyone running Shooters World Precision Rifle powder in AR's? How have your results been?
Thanks.
S.

No Elvis casters in the house?

There is another forum here where folks share their 223/556/wylde success. There is 1 or 2 fellas that posted using that design over H335, I like the 61 elvis design myself and plan on picking it up soon.
Im going to run it in a 9 twist. You might have luck in the 7, but your might be at a lower velocity.

the only luck I had with the .223 was the rcbs 55 sp sized .225 over 18 grains of AA2230. by the time you pay for the gas check, you're halfway to covering the cost of a fmj bullet, so I stopped reloading cast for .223
22 hornet is a different story. that round shoots the same rcbs 55 sp great without a gas check.

Any Elvis 61 users want to chime in? I'm interested in this mold as well.
