Let's see here...
38 spl. Bullseye and a wadcutter, 45acp, ,44mag, then pretty much down hill
from there.... 22 Hornet, .17 Rem. out to 50 BMG with a lot in between.
I think it went beyond habit to an addiction.

Can't remember whether it was 350 rem Mag or 308 Norma, but it was about 1970. Both were loaded on Lee Loaders.
357 mag then 9 mm ,then 308/223/3030/3840 and the odd 4570.
Back in the late '90's early 2000's the 40S&W was all the rage and 10mm ammo was either scarce or $1 a round! It was either learn to reload or don't shoot it!
.38 special with wadcutters over Bullseye.
First was .243 with a Lee Loader in 1971 for My SAKO Forrester that I should never have sold! Most accurate gun I ever owned and I still have everything for it ,,, Except the gun!
Then came.44 Magnum and Special with a Lee Classic Loader and Lee Cast Boolits done over the stove in 1978. Shot literally hundreds of them in my 8 3/8 S&W M29. Sold that one too.
Load mostly for .44 Mag and Spec now, and I mostly use my Hand Press to do it. Still cast all my boolits.

8mm Mauser. 1967. Still have the '98 that dad sporterized in the '50's. It will still shoot 1-2" moa with that load I developed back in the 60's. I should start saving money by reloading any day now.
30-06 for a M1 grand using the Lee hand press, end up breaking the press and getting a Rock chunker from RCBS.
.32 ACP with a Lee Loader.
My first round was off and old RCBS Rock Chucker and it was a 55gr .22-250 round. I too was a bit nervous when I pulled that trigger. Of course all went well.
first was 38sp using a Dillon 550, HP-38 powder and CCI small pistol primers.
And it was a JHP (can't remember who made it or the load)
First time I ever pulled the press handle was on an RCBS RC in NJ. It was my mother's then boyfriend, and the round was .44 magnum. I was on leave and had just got back from Japan.
First time using my own equipment was my own RCBS RC and it was .38 Special this time. The one thing I didn't do was balance the scale, so they were under charged by a bit, but still accurate. They were 158gr. swaged SWCs from Midway USA. I think they were Remington, and they had a waxy flaky coating on them.
45 ACP in 2010

Summer of 1984 my Uncle taught me how to reload using the .41 Magnum. Still hooked on that cartridge.

I started with 30-06 in about 2004. It was shown to me by a neighbor using a lee hand press. That was all he used to do his. I had been casting for 45 and 44 black powder and fishing sinkers since the early 80. Ben playing with lead for a long time. I now cast for all the guns I shoot accept for 22 rimfire and a 8mm mouse
