Is swagging only for pure lead, or can tin:lead alloy be swagged?
I have reshaped bullets made from a range scrap alloy, but I have also broken a $120.00 die doing it. I don't think the tin will harden it enough to be a serious problem. It is the Antimony that really hardens the lead. I would just go slow and easy with the tin alloy until you're sure it won't damage your dies.
Greetings,
I have been swaging 0.314" HBWC bullets with 30:1 Lead:Tin.
Stick on Wheel Weights is what I am currently using.
I use a Corbin CSP-1 press.
Try to keep the hardness around 6-7 Brinell.
Cheers,
Dave
I think BTsniper uses clip on WW in his 22lr cases to .224 projectiles.
