does anyone know anything about GT bullets?
i sorta like the 425gr(45-70) but i don't shoot my handi much and i'm about done with the 405gr fn(saeco #18), there's about 40 or boolits left.

I don't know anything specifically about GT bullets or that bullet in particular. The bullet looks like a reasonable design, the only thing I would question would be if a 2-2-96 alloy and plain base might limit you to loading not a great deal higher than trapdoor-level velocity. It depends on how hard you plan to push it.
I do like 425gr wfn bullets for hunting. I use a gas checked Accurate molds 46-425Q, made with 4% antimony and heat treated to BHN 18-20. Good bullet design, easy casting, with plenty lube capacity compared to some others. Enough taper in the nose section to feed reliably in my 1886 but still a good wide meplat for hunting.
i don't cast for the 45-70, but i'm thinking a trapdoor load would suit me just fine. 1200-1300fps is just right for my handi.
