Handgun Lasers
I found as I got older that I was having more difficulty getting a good sight picture at night when trying to shoot with the aid of a flash light. A black bear in a tree does not reflect a lot of light.
I put a green laser on one of my side arms , it makes hitting targets in the dark much easier, so far I have not had the opportunity to try it on any predators. I also made a holster, putting extras on handgun makes for a few less commercial holster options.

I just bought this...it's on the way: Crimson Trace LL-801 Laserguard Pro Red Laser Sight and Tactical Light for Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm and .40 S&W Pistols. I'm up there in age too. Any little bit helps. I'guess I'll have a hard time finding a holster for it though.

I have CT laser grips or Laserguards on all of my CC pieces. Mainly for low light usage. However, they will allow you to literally shoot from the hip, accurately. Hunting wise, not all states will allow their use. Check your state regulations.
