I see the odd hip flask and other doodad marked "Selwin Pewter." Web searches suggest that these things are made in Malaysia. Is this stuff really pewter/mostly tin, or something else?

About all the Malaysian pewter I've found is around 99% tin. Really soft and bends easy.
Malaysia is where all tin currently comes from it has been a primary source for the metal for almost a century.
Selmark is a trademark of Royal Selangor. Never heard of Selwin. That said, Asian pewter is generally over 95% tin.
