I got lucky on Ebay..
I spotted a SC NEI mold on Ebay from the days when Walt was cutting them in El Paso. It was a nose pour 178.308 GC. This boolit is nothing more than Lyman 311291 with a moderate meplat and the bottom driving band lengthend to pick up another 5-7 grains.
I put in a bid and got it for what I felt was a resonable price ($36.00). NEI still makes these but at $95.00 a pop for the nose pour version.
It came today and while the pot was melting lead, I clean and lubed the mold and used the obligatory Mold Prep. The mold cast perfectly with no problems at all.
Cast from No. 2 alloy, the bullet runs .310 on the body and .3025 on the nose. This should make a very good bullet for the 30-30,30-40, and 30.06
