Am awaiting some powder, and my gaze went to a slightly battered trigger guard and tang , from a nameless s/s .22 bolt action
instead of hours of sanding, cold/hot blue, I was just thinking... yup, even have a light bulb go off over my head.:p
I may coat, hang by wire in the oven ( use a a screw hole to avoid major marring of surfaces) and give it a whirl.
Till then, any inputs appreciated

I made a steel bracket to mount an led back up light on top of my 3rd brake light on the jeep. Stuck it in the tumbler and let it tumble for about an hour and then baked it. Came out as nice as a store bought bracket would look.

I've thought the same and tried a couple times. Shake and bake doesn't work very well for me on some of the parts I've tried. Once I have a bigger oven will break the gun back out and spray. Shake and Bake IS working great for the bullets. ( Bigger oven means I can get a decent size cookie sheet. That way I can have hundreds of .223 bullets tip over at once instead of only 150ish.)
Some items can be coated using the shake & bake with some powders; not all powders will work, just as some items will not generate enough of a static charge to hold the powder.
The reason shake & bake works so easily with bullets is lead is an unusual metal in that it readily accepts and holds a charge. If you want to coat other items the best way to go is with a gun. The Eastwood Dual Voltage gun is the best I have found for the money.

Lloyd, the Hitek stuff is a solution, not a powder. I like them both.

I seem to have done ok on the actual coating of cast projectiles. As posted in another thread. Will have a crack at some 0.285" 175gr RCBS to add to the learning curve and while at it, may try a 20 cent coin...
