Sticking mold
I noticed this weekend after getting my molds good and warm and casting I started having trouble opening the molds, they didn’t wanna open like they usually do boolits didn’t have any more trouble dropping out of the mold once I opened it up but it was definitely sticking closed. I was using a pair of Lee 356-125 2R molds and water dropping the boolits so maybe splashed a little onto the mold making a cold spot? Not sure what I did to make it do that so if someone with some experience could fill me in let me know. thanks!

The only time I have seen them stick closed is when the alignment pins get dirty. I would assume that you do lube your pins and sprue plate screw before starting, and after a while that sticky, burned lube builds up on the pins and in the alignment holes. Check and make sure those areas are clean.

See if the locking pins have moved or if they have burrs around them. Does it help to smack the handle before opening? If so my guess is that they have moved. It's not uncommon for them to slide forward and then the mould gets hard to open/close because it's pinching in the locking pins/holes.

I put a touch of beeswax on my pins after the mold is warm, stops the sticking.

Didn’t have to smack it but it took 2 hands a few times usually it just falls open I’ll check the alignment pins and give em a good cleaning and lube
