Cute little Remington 7 AAC rifle with a 7" twist, 16" barrel. I might just have the spare change to get it suppressed soon- Already accumulated moulds, dies, brass & etc.
Now to get down to load development work, and I know this wheel has already been invented, probably many times.
So what worked for YOU? I don't need to run an AR gas system. Just want 100 yard accuracy, with enough thump at the end of the trajectory to ruin a coyote or other mid sized varmint. But quietly, so coyotes are not just "single serving"... We seem to have developed a few too many since my neighbor with the pack of coyote hunting dogs moved away.
Got lil gun, W296, green Dot, Unique, IMR 4227, reloader 7, Trail Boss and most common powders you could use in a magnum pistol or small capacity rifle case on hand, from loading for .44 mag, 22 Hornet, .221 fireball.
I use trailboss with the MP 311-410 deep hollowpoint. Opens up at subsonic velocities and is really quiet suppressed. Weighs about 130 grains. I have killed hogs and coyotes with it.
I assumed I would want to go with long and heavy for suppressed/subsonic- I have a hollow pointed .30 cal. "squib bullet" single cavity mould too, though!
Got both the Lee 230 gr 2 cavity and the (NOE?)250 gr 4 cav, the 4 banger has both plain base and gas checked, also a hp cavity on one. Soup to nuts in one mould block. I have not yet cast with either, bought them when they came up here from others, knew I wanted to go there when I had the time and money...
I have the NOE 247 whisper mold and using my alloy (soft) I have to load a slower powder which means more gas volume (approximately 10 grains) and not as quiet with suppressor. The 130 grain bullet is subsonic with approximately 4 grains of fast pistol powder and hollywood quiet.
It will be hard to get the velocity you want with the 2250 gr. bullet in the B.O., don't use Bullseye powder, I would go slower..........I also feel that you will need a much faster twist, say 1-1".
All kidding aside. 2.5-3grns of bullseye. I use powdercoat and never use gas checks, especially for suppressors. Mine are all user serviceable. Most the time I run 170grn with 3grns 700x. Stupid quiet.
Mods, this is a double post, can this be merged with the other (correctly titled!) thread:

done.
A 2250gr bullet would be very subsonic...
