I see pics of the Eagan molds, I have a SAECO 315.
The bullets look very similar.
What differences are there between these two molds ? ?

i dont know for sure but i would guess it is price
I own Saeco. Unlike many recently I like them a lot.
But then, I tend to like anything which does the job; as advertised. Recently, I tried LEE. You know what? Strangely, for such a pitance of low initial cost LEE DOES THE JOB!
I've never even heard of Eagan.

Eagan has crossed over but he made top flight custom molds only. Saeco's are production molds. I've had good luck with Saeco's but if you're match shooting Eagan has the edge.
Eagans are nose pour also.

Thanks for the Email with photos and dimensions of your Eagan mold bullet. I've compared your figures with mine on my SAECO # 315. VERY , VERY similar.

For those of you who have ever had the pleasure of shooting a cast bullet bench gun in the 30 Kern it was based on the 7.62X39 case with the shoulder angle modified. and throated for the Saeco 315. Mr Eagens bullet was basicly the same. I now shoot a 30 BR. with the Eagen 30X Ardeto MX4 bullet . Jerry W
Jerry W, do you have any pictures of the Eagen 30X or the Ardeto MX4 boolit.
Another question, how do you lube and put on the gas checks on the tapered boolits like SAECO #315.
You get someone to make you a tapered sizer and push the bullets in nose first. Mr. Eagan made them to go with his boolits. Or you do like I do when I size the Eagan MX-3-30AR larger than .308. You dip the boolit in melted lube then push a neck cutoff from a fired case down to remove the excess lube.
I have been sizing mine with a SAECO luber sizer at .310" and getting great results in my 308 Winchester. I just try not to have too much pressure when sizing to cut down on excess lube on the nose of the boolit.
I have 3 of Don Eagans molds, and a SAECO 315. I also have one of Eagans taper sizing dies. I have tried sizing the 315 in the Eagan sizing die. It didn't seem to make any better or worse. Now, I usually pan lube and crimp a Hornady gc using a Lyman gas check seater. I don't size it at all and get about 3/4 - 1 MOA.
