Copiers use several types of torque limiting/slip clutches, electronic clutchs and one way clutches. What you trying to do?
I made a (MR bulletfeeder) type thing and need a clutch to protect the motor. Those little 9mm cone projectiles occasionally hang up in the drop hole.
Maybe a set of 2-6 spring loaded balls in a plate housing and the matching recesses in the cover plate. You would need to play with ball dia indent depth and spring tension to get where you want. This would spin under load and be automatic resetting. Wouldn't be to hard to make and would allow the "give" during a jam.
Motor over current sensor that reverses the motor to clear the blockage automatically... circuit could be found on the web... otherwise ebay has simple over current detectors...

This is a downloaded pic of one of the common torque limiters. The metal hub is driven and a simple coil spring friction drives the outer plastic hub.

Sounds like one could be used to couple the plate to its drive shaft pretty easy.
Take a look at the clutch on your Dillon or hornadey case feeder plate most bullet feeders use the same type Drive shaft.
Sometimes easier to buy a wheel rather than recreate it. Ebay offers lots of inexpensive clutch replacements for cordless drills. Adapting one of these to your project might be easier than building one. Also the cordless drills can offer a variety of torque settings for the clutch. A quick search will yield many options.

I just used a split set collar on a smooth shaft. Tighten it just enough to do the job and if anything jams, the shaft just turns in the collar.

Google “split set collar” and add whatever the shaft OD of your motor is.
Polar hunter, you had the exact same thought as i did. You get a motor and you get an included gear box that you can adjust the torque as needed.
