I've shortened and sharpened the nose on this one, and it's now called #51-440D and DG.
Thanks for pointing out the problem.

This has to be one of the most interesting and useful threads I ever started. Thank you to all who have given input. The list in the OP is becoming very impressive.
40-160b 163 gr wdww bac/red mix 50/50 load 4.8 WST
Which one is yours? 40-160b
Why did you design/modify it, for which gun/purpose? XD Sub, and an M&P Pro 5"
I wanted my own bullet design.
The hollowpoints tend to be more stable, I figured it was because the cg was further to the rear. So, I had the rear lube groove cut skinny, and the front groove cut wide, forcing the cg rearward on a flat meplat round, increasing the stability.
How well did it work? It worked perfectly. I've seen meplat marks out a 100 yards, they seem to fly right.
What would you do different if you could? Gas check maybe, but I have no leading personally. Flat base. He's got one, the 40-160c
Post the link to your boolit and let us know! http://accuratemolds.com/bullet_deta...=40-160B-D.png
Did I design that mould? Are you kidding!!!??? I couldn't design a mould for a decent pencil eraser but I'm beginning to recognize a good design, guess that's a good start.
We are indeed living in the best ever time to be a cast boolit afficianado. With the CAD/CAM technology and external ballistics technology available to us we have seen and will see some awesome boolit designs.

Great thread, and the customer service from AM is obviously awesome. Tom I will be reaching out to ya soon for a couple things coming along.

31-180Q which is a Ranch Dog type nose with the XCB lube grooves for .308 Win. Don't have it yet but it is in the catalog.
31-195B It was designed for a worn throat of an Argentine Mauser.

I can't say I designed this one anymore than the two .357 bullets that I had him modify for gas checks, but I had Tom add a modified version of one of Dan T's mini-groove .375 bullets(38-295D). I am going to try in my new Win. 1885 38-55 rifle when it arrives.(Yes, I am chomping at the bit until it arrives.) Tom's version has a small flat on the nose which won't help the long range B.C. of course, but at silhouette distances I doubt it will make a lot of difference. It shouldn't have any issue stabilizing in a 1x16" twist, or at least I hope. The neat part is that Tom can change the band diameters to whatever one requires.

The Accurate 38-320E - Don't Know Who Had the Mold ClonedQuote:
even if you had nothing to do with it, if you know what it's intended purpose was go ahead and tell us so that everybody can know.
It is the clone of one of the rarest Ideal molds not for sale, the 375166, 320gr bullet for 38-55 and 38-72 (1:12 twist) blackpowder reloads.
Don Miller did an excellent article for the Spring 2007 issue of the Black Powder Cartridge news entitled … A New Twist Rule Applied to Black Powder Rifles. In his very extensive calculation, he determined that the Ideal 375166 bullet will have the best ballistics characteristics in a BPCR with a 1:18 twist. In a 1:18 bore, the bullet calculates to 17.65 ratio. It is my 'go to' fix cartridge reloads and is accurate to 500m on the rams

I did not design this one in any way, but I would have if it did not already exist. I was looking for the perfect fit long range accuracy boolit for my 8-3/8" S&W 686 and came up with the same dimensions more or less so I ordered this silhouette-style design in a 4-cav aluminium mold for it.
I'm still working on loads, currently getting around 2.7" for six shots at 55 yards iron sights but expecting to get better.

I didn't really design it as I believe Catshooter came up with this one. It's just Accurates 45-255K with the front driving band an the crimp groove removed. Man I'm really digging this boolit in 45 Colt and I have some ACP loaded up that I need to head out and try.

31-095L. Not mine, but Tom did the wizardry. I wanted a type III wadcutter for my stable of .32's. The only guidance I offered was, "Can you make a 358432 only small?" It shoots a treat in every .32 I have tried.

31-180F was made to match up the specs of the throat of my 1903-A3--it's basically the same as the 31-170BG but with a 0.24" meplat. I gave Tom the measurements of the pound cast and told him what meplat diameter I wanted. I told him that I liked the overall design of the 31-170BG, but I wanted it set up for the throat on my rifle. When he revised the ogive to give me the meplat I wanted, the measurements at the various lengths from the bullet base came out just right.
I ordered the mold last night, so I don't have any load data or performance data on it yet, but rest assured, that will come soon enough...

Thought it would be helpful for some people to see the subsonic gallery 31-155D for .30-30, .30-40, 7.62x54 and .30-06 together with the similar 35-245D for the .35 Whelen and .35/.30-30:

45-230Z. Specified RF, 230 grain boolit weight with WW+2%, no lube or crimp groves for PC, boolit diameter .252'', meplate diameter 0.31'', 3 cavity aluminum. It is dropping at 236 grains using WW+2%+slight bit of hard mystery alloy. Going to cast some in 20:1+PB AL GC. Feeds fine in XDs 3.2'' bbl. XDm compact 3.8'' bbl and Glock 41. Considering having it hollow pointed. It's a handful run at +/- 900 fps in XDs using HS-6.

Hey, I'm finally a member of the group here. Designed a bullet a month or so ago and had Tom at Accurate make it for me. Arrived yesterday and the mold is beautiful. (of course) "My" mold number is 38-270C.
