Waco; when you get back from buying lottery tickets-pics please. Great score.
I don't know if I have bought my "last" gun. Seems like there is always one more tugging at my wallet
It tells me "exceeds your quota by 46.6KB" When I try to post a pic.
Good buy! did you know the seller?
Pre war Mauser sporting rifle. It has a half round, half octagon barrel, double set triggers, lever floor plate release, two leaf rear sight, really nice bore and a nice figured stock. Will do a chamber cast this weekend to determine cartridge but I am assuming 8x57. $430 out the door at a small gun shop.
Tim, if that rifle is in any condition at all you stole it!!! Well done sir!!!! Proof marks will probably tell you the cartridge. 8 X 57 is a heck of a good guess but it could be about anything.
Once things settle down in Florida, our prayers for those folks continue, the deal for this one will be finalized as it's all settled but the paperwork. The seller is in Florida and I've yet to hear from him since Irma ravaged the state. I pray he's fine.

Man,where do I begin? Estate sale crazy! As an assistant to tagging and cataloging 106 rifles I was blessed to receive these rifles for my 28 hours of work.

My 21 year old son, bought this one. Winchester Model 70 Pre-64. We arm wrestled over this one but I took the 2 -Mod 54's instead. A 1960 manufacturing date (year I was born!) 30-06. Smooth as silk.

The last gun I bought.. last gun show 9-10 last weekend I purchased a new S&W 629-6 and a Ruger Super Redhawk 44 magnum.
Yes sir I sure did! I felt slightly guilty but I figured I paid his price. The gunshop owner was under the impression it was a sporterized military rifle. The proofs indicate 8mm but doesn't give the length of the cartridge. I would do a chamber cast anyway because who knows what could have been done to it over the years.
Your rifle looks like a dandy! I hope it's safe and sound.
Does it count if I won it instead of buying it? Remington SS 700 ADL in 308. I will most likely take cash value and buy a CZ rifle instead.
Just sent off a check yesterday for a Winchester 1895 take down in 30-06. It is new in the box and a Miroku built rifle.
Tim and Sharps- let's see those Mausers when you get a chance. I've owned two "Guild Guns" and kick myself regularly for letting them go!
