I love the optics on the Vortexes, just wish the eye relief was in general better. Sold my 2-7, not for any lack of quality, but loading my 45/70 hot, the 3.5-3.1" relief got me scoped one too many times. It worked great on my 30-06, factory loads, though. Glass, imo, is leagues beyond its price point.

i have the vortex 6.5x20x44 and have been pleased
in a perfect world i would be able to afford the highest magnification they offer

I have three Vortex scopes and am really happy with all three of them. The first one I picked up is a Diamondback 3-9x40 that I put on my 350 Rem Mag. The second is the Viper HS 2-10x44 that I put on my 6.5x55, and the third is the Viper HS-T 6-24x50 and it sits on my 280AI. All three of the scopes hold zero and track extremely well. I am quite happy with them and feel they are a great value for what you get.

Optics on my Vortex 3-12 Diamondback HD are super. The reticle is a little coarse which is perfect for the woods. The combination of the side focus/parallax adjustment and the bottom tick mark on the rangefinder reticle put my 358 win mouse-fart loads on target at 30 yards with my 225gr hunting load dead on at 100. Great scope, but be sure to get the HD if you go this way.

I didn't realize they made an HD version of the diamondback. Mind asking what you paid for them. Always looking for a bargain

I bought a viper hs 2.5-10x44 from Cabelas Bargain cave, I have not tested the scope yet but it is very clear and I am satisfied with it on my 223.

I've given my friends some ****, the ones who owned those "Tornado Trash" scopes, but after looking through them and shooting them I had to change my tune...
