THis is what I do as well. It seems to yield about 4bhn increase in hardness with 15-16m baking time @ 400deg. That is with range scrap.

As long as I get 3-4 bhn from water cooling I,m ok. I want to do paper patching so it doesn’t even matter. Mold’s the problem. Shooting for 14 in an old 6.5, but with large lands... is it too hard? But if PP after that hardness won’t matter.
I add a few wheel weights to range scrap and water drop for all my cast bullets. I have great results even at 3030 Win speeds...
I drop straight from the mold into bucket of water. This minimizes the time variation. I tumble lube. I let my bore do the sizing. It gets it perfect every time.
