LOL! That's true. I did get some nice running gear so I can at least look like I know what I'm doing when I'm out slogging down the road, slowly huffing and puffing.
After 15 years of ladle casting, I got a bottom pour pot for Christmas. So far I'm really enjoying it. I did make a bracket out of sheet metal to hold my thermometer and a dollar store mini cast iron pan to catch drips.

1971 Marlin 444 from my father in law.
I suppose I should buy an appropriate RD mould.
And yes, that is a sweet floor in my loading room. That was my wife's idea, she even helped put it in and get rid of the old carpeting.
That rifle has some friends. It lives with a 30-30, 45-70, 32-20, 357, and 45 Colt. Marlin is well represented here.
Btroj, I am jealous. I am still looking for a 444.
JonB, that is a chamber cleaning tool for the Swiss Sturmgewehr 57. A patch made of metal screen material was secured in the slot and wrapped around the body, then pressed into the chamber and rotated, sort of the same idea as a Lewis lead remover. Similar tools were used for earlier Swiss rifles also but I think they've been deemed unnecessary for the newer Sturmgewehr 90 series. If you're unfamiliar, the 57 is a fluted chamber, roller locked delayed blowback similar in operation to an H&K G3 or 91 series gun. They can get pretty sooty in use.
The shiny guy is indeed a bore inspection mirror.
Those black tubes are likely still partially full of Automattenfett (grease for automatic weapons) which is used to clean, lube, and protect the whole rifle. Messy but good!
Santa gave me what I wished for, a HF powder coat gun and red powder. Having a blast after getting more colors. Please excuse the pic quality. Attachment 92851
Gotta believe in Santa to keep receiving. Slim
Dang Brad, all that and no .35?
Gear
No 35 Remington or 375 Winchester. Those two, and a 25-20, are on the need to get list. A 44 mag I just don't need or want.
My dad asked a few years a go if I was ever going to hunt with something other than a lever action. He just doesn't understand.
That was thoughtful of your daughter, you'll have to take her shooting ! :Fire:

My new .45 Colt Santa left for me. It will never see a factory round if I can help it. So far, I've been feeding it a diet of NOE 454424 SWCs on top of 12.5 grains of BlueDot with some Lee 452-200RF on top of 8 grains of W231. Will start experimenting with 2400 loads soon.
Oh, that's a sweet stash of old powders, molds, primers etc! Love it.
Like that bracket for the Lee pot! I'm gonna make one of them.
From my son and daughter-in-law...
