I just looked at a bottle of PURE VANILLA EXTRACT, not Imitation, it says its 35% ALCOHOL, AND THAT MAKES IT 70 PROOF.

Well....as soon as we can get an idea on shipping costs, I'd be interested.
3 bucks per liter is great. But "30" bucks per liter for shipping might not be.
I guess also is that in plastic or glass?? Knowing how shippers treat their customers, glass would have to be packaged pretty darn well. Just sayin ..... Lee
Thanks!
I too am interested. Nothing better than getting real stuff from the forum members. I'll just wait for the cost for shipping then decide how much I want. This is awsome!
Find out what you can get the vanilla beans for. That is where the flavor is.
Big +1 Oldschool!
If you can get the beans, it is easy to make vanilla extract. Beans would also be easier and cheaper to ship.
I would be interested in a liter or 2 once the shipping prices have been worked out.
Silver Eagle
the bottles can be glass or plastic i will be shipping plastic as the postal service doesnt understand what fragile means. I have never seen the vanilla beans but I have a friend that runs a fruit importation buisness taking produce from mexico to america i will see if he knows anything

Put them in a medium flat rate and call it good LOL

I just made a batch of my own so I'll have to pass this time, but this sounds great :)
Id be interested in some beans if they become available...Robin
Also interested in beans depending on price.
Id take a couple of bottles waiting to hear the scoop on shipping.
Vanilla Extract--Standard of Identity (21CFR169.175)
A pure vanilla extract must contain the extractive matter from 13.35 ounces of vanilla beans at 25% moisture per fold, per U.S. gallon with a minimum ethanol content of 35%.
That's the USA legal definition. What you get from Mexico may be different. Either way, it is almost certain to contain more alcohol that the USPS is going to want to ship. UPS, Fedex & other shippers may have different rules.
I'm just going to leave this link here for you guys to peruse:

I have bought beans from these people in the past and they are good to go.
Enjoy. :)
Shipping would be a lot Cheaper if you could just get the Beans.
Could you pick up a few Kilos and send them to Maine.
Tanke the Majic Beans and drop them into a bottle of Majic Potato water.
Let soak for anywhere from a week to a year.
Poof! you have home made Vannilla Drink.

Soak for as long as you like! When I drove over the road, I used to go over the border every time I got close, usually for vanilla for friends. Some of that stuff is aged 12 years in casks, some only 1 year. Most vanilla was a byproduct of the Kalua industry, so I was told. I still prefer real vanilla to that imitation stuff.
I would be interested in vanilla beans. I will keep an eye on the thread and see how things go.
Bump.
Still interested.
Whats the big deal with vanilla beans? They're all over Amazon and E-Bay at reasonable prices.
Do a simple google search.
Yes I still want some.
