H4895 is a good choice in the .358 with that bullet weight. 1800 plus with very good accuracy.

That was only 50 yds...it was the first set of loads with that bullet.
Well hope to duplicate that! Loaded some up this evening from 30-33 grains...will see how the gun likes it!
My 358 BLR really likes IMR 3031 with 200gr cast or jacketed and 250 gr cast. However the 225gr Sierra (used by Buffalo Bore ammo) did best with TAC.
Well shot these this eve, and 32 grains H4895 looks promising! 4 shots went into .705 at 100 yards.
Is everyone getting a clean burn with 4895 and 3031? I got a BLR T/D last summer and started out with my normal load with Surplus 4895 and it left a handful of unburned powder in the action. I'm leery of trash in the action of the BLR so I use 4759 and 2400.
That should not be happening. Some small amount is possible with most any powder. But LARGE amounts are something else happening like contaminated powder or not the "powder" you believe it to be.
