Not today but Wednesday a MP 402-165 - 4 cavity brass
I got a 358503 Harvey protex mold last week.
Would you please educate me on a Harvey protex mold. Never heard of one.
I had to look them up myself. It's a bullet thats poured with a zinc washer in the mold, kind of like a gas check. Ideal produced the molds. From what I can find they come in 3 sizes: .38, .44, and 45. I think I have a wadcutter. then there's the round nose, and I guess a hollow point design. I'm hoping someone will have more info on these.
I'd love to get ahold of a .44 or .45
Yesterday, drove an hour to the next town to snag for $30 apiece a Lyman 452423, and an RCBS 45-255 KT, both two cav's with handles. Score. Shall be nice to finally own a Keith design.

A Lyman 457122.
Love it!
I just got a call from the gunshop my CBE 357 100 gr semi wadcutter has just arrived.
Got another 358439HP . Seller posted pictures of the mold with handles and a nice clean box for a 266469 but when I got the mold and box he had added a large white sticker with his stock number on top of the box . I have the mold for the box so was very pissed to see that ugly sticker had been added after he posted the auction pictures , no positive feedback for them . Mold cavity had light surface rust but a dip in the rust remover and a brushing with a stiff nylon brush and it's now like new but there is no help for the box .
8 cavity MP mold 359-125. I didn't get it today, but I did just cast with it for the first time, and before I knew it I had emptied out my pot and had a pile of great looking 9mm boolits sitting there.
Attachment 250661Attachment 250662I didnt receive yet... But a Accurate 36-135 alum/5 cav WFP TL bullet used from prominent member here!
Hoping it feeds in my lil 357sig. but even if not should make a dandy in 38/357 Mag.

I have had these for a little while and casting some today. A 6 cavity HG 332, which is a 180 gr. .40/10mm version of a HG 68 SWC and a 6 cavity 373 , which is a .40/10mm 155 gr round nose. They are wonderful .

My "newest" mold is a Hensley and Gibbs in its original box, that's been sitting in my mold collection for over 25 years..........unused! Why? Well, it was part of an inheritance from an old friend. I had pulled it from the box once, opened it and looked at the 4 cavities, judging them to be .44 caliber. Today I got curious and looked up the mold number......130......and discovered it was a 185 grain semi wadcutter for the .45 acp! Talk about having a gold ingot and not even realizing it..........I mean, even the handles look new for cryin' out loud!
I quickly but thoroughly cleaned everything and fired up the pot. A half hour later I had a nice pile of boolits, probably 100+, ready for sizing and lubing. Tomorrow I load and shoot. Life is good.
I was also gifted two of these H&G molds. From a good friend who regretfully passed last year. :( The 185 & 200g 45’s.
They cast beautiful accurate bullets. Good luck with uours!!

Well, it didn't take long to test. I cast about 100 nice, shiny boolits and loaded them over 6.0 grains of Unique then headed for the range this morning. To my dismay, they wouldn't feed! I'm not talking about firing them, the first round wouldn't feed from the magazine without jamming my 1911 so badly I had to strip the gun at the range! The odd thing is that pulling the mag and dumping the "almost chambered" round did not clear the jam. The slide was stuck about halfway back and no amount of urging would clear it until it was stripped completely. Then it cycled normally. What a pity........that mold drops some gorgeous boolits.
After the third attempt, I took the whole shebang home. I'll pull the boolits tonight. If I don't resize them, they're still usable for my .45 revolver anyway!

Sorry to read... Both molds function fine in my guns. I have one with a KART barrel too. Its usually finicky with cast. It wont work with PC. I have to lube for that one.
I cast some 460-350 GC bullets today. What a nice casting mold!!
