As a Seminarian, I check into this site often and am sad there is no Holy Week Thread. I will do a church service his Friday. I am sad to see nothing about Holy Week here. Why?
Be well.

Adam, this is a chapel, not a Church. The chapel in your local hospital does not have an Easter message, as far as I know. That's not it's purpose.
Well, you have stung my conscience. We certainly need to remember how in Gods plan to redeem his fallen creation he sent us his Son to live a perfect , sinless life , So that his death could be the innocent sacrifice worthy to satisfy judgement for all the sin committed by all living people on earth.
Hi Adam,
If you would like to bring holy week messages here we will read them. I really appreciate the people here and their efforts to spread the Word. When my mom died I was 5 and dad quit going to church. Much of my young life and adulthood was guided by the 12 Points of the Scout Law...Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent. So, I'm ignorant of many things Godly but learning.

This is a good message for Holy Week.
Wayne,
I did not mean to sound confrontational or to start a disagreeable post. I was looking for thoughts for my next church service from fellow believers. I did Hospice care for 5 years and met with many older fellow veterans.
If a hospital chapel does not have an Easter Message, I guess the chaplain forgot it was Holy Week. I do not see a difference between the purpose of a chapel versus a church. Both are a House of God wherever 2 or 3 gather in His Name.
Be well.

Not a week, it's a glorious morning!
Easter at the U is a three day holiday.
Might go cutting cornices, Alaska at Easter is hot sun deep snow.
It's a 600 mile round trip, in three days you can get there and back.
Easter eggs, and haircuts, some go to church.
So I asked around, "Why do we call it Easter?"
Annoyed a lot of co-workers, but they're used to it.
It's a good thing my boss was a Christian.
Best answer I got was Easter is in Acts.
Most knew eostre was a kind of goddess of the east.
Three Baptists in three hundred people, I am a persecuted minority.
But one new hire, a kid said "We don't, we say Christos Voskres"
Come again? Sure, in Ukraine we say "He is Risen"
Gave me some hope for that generation.
“Христос воскрес!” (Christos voskres!)
So for a Holy Week message, teach "He is Risen!"
and why He died for us to those who might never know.
They are out looking for crevasses in the glacier on an RMK.
They will be elsewhere, not in church.
I hope they get home all right.
Ishtar is the pagan goddess of fertility. Easter is used one time in the book of Acts and it's a bad translation...The word in the manuscripts is Pascha...meaning passover.
I prefer Happy Resurrection Day to easter...but I am not one of those that bash people for their man made traditions of eggs and bunnies....lets just not lie about the origins of easter. It's NOT a Christian holiday. Resurrection and Passover are the reasons it is a Holy time of year.
HE is Risen....to that I can give an Amen. In this generation of degenerates...for a young person to say that is nice indeed.
He is Risen Indeed.
