Walther/Colt 1911 22cal Ambi Safety Install

I am left handed so I wanted an ambidextrous thumb safety on my gun.
A couple of weeks ago I disassembled it to see if the safety is the same as the full size 1911s.
I lost the plunger a made a crude replacement so the gun was still useable and ordered a standard replacement plunger when I ordered an ambidextrous safety.
Parts came in and the weather was cold enough for me to get into the shop undisturbed for a couple of hours.

It is NOT a direct replacement but close enough.

The plunger was too long even with a shorter spring so it needed to be trimmed about a quarter of an inch and radiused.
The slide notch is not big enough so it had to be opened up, thankfully it is aluminum!
It did not take much work to modify the right side grip.

It was a little frustrating but it is really smooth and sweet!
