Revolver identity?

A friend brought this over today, and we’re trying to find out more about it. It seems to have no serial number and other than an odd numeral or letter- it is unmarked.
Except…. On the left upper side of the barrel “Western Star” is stamped or roll marked.
It appears to have been nickel plated originally.
SA/DA and loads thru loading gate.
The ejection rod setup is missing.
I believe that it was chambered for a .44 Rimfire cartridge of some sort, as it has a rimfire striker on the hammer face.
A .433” ball will drop through the chambers but not the barrel.
I recommended putting it in a display box.
My guess is Belgian make- but that’s just a guess.

Kind of looks like a Lefaucheux M1858.

I rebuilt a Belgian copy of a French revolver that looked very similar.
I can't remember what caliber it was.
But it was a rim fire.

Just searching "belgian western star" comes up with a few examples, but yours may be missing the ejector assembly.
I wonder if its in .44 henry

I thought that or a Rast Gasser or similar.
.44 Henry was probably available at the time.
The barrel and frame are one piece.
