Just seen this, they are calling it SA-35. I’m pretty excited!
Recontoured/no-bite hammer, extended thumb safety, factory tuned trigger and NO mag disconnect.
Sounds good to me.

Thanks for posting. Has me by the short hairs too and I don't like 9mms
Beautiful. I have carried a HP since '72. This is a sweet looking piece.
Looks awfully appealing. If I were in the market for a semi-auto, I would be seriously tempted....
Maybe someday, after I get my hands on an 8-hole Redhawk in 357....
I want one. Ambi safety for me...
So glad to see Girsan and now Springfield stepping up to keep this legendary gun in production!
Have any of your shot the Girsan version? GF
I not a 9 mm fan either BUT, it was made Mr. Browning!
Will be looking at them closer!
I am looking for my piggy bank. I was through with buying 9mm guns and am ready to start saving for a FA 97 in either 45 Colt/45ACP or 44 Special. This one may delay that revolver!
My first handgun purchase was almost a Hi-Power in the satin nickle finish. Spent the winter of my sixth grade year caring for the coal fired furnace in my school and received a lump sum payment in the spring of 1980. The HP was tempting, but the new Ruger Redhawk got the nod. Still have the Redhawk…

With a suggested retail of $699, that isn't an over priced version. It might even be some competition for the CZ75 Shadow 2 and other similar pistols.
Reminds me a bit of the Sig P210 wonder if it shoots as good? P210's are over priced for my budget and I'm not look for a 9 but????
I've got one of Cole's surplus HP's and it's one of my favorite pistols, but I would love to have one of these. The idea that it's made in the USA appeals to me. It doesn't hurt that it's a fine looking model and the price is right.
The Hi-Power feels so good in the hand, then the trigger feels like you are dragging a cat across broken milk bottles. Springfield getting rid of the magazine safety will go a long ways towards fixing that. Making the safety a little easier to use will be nice as well.
The only other double stack nine that sits as well is the CZ-75. Most of the rest of that tribe vary from awkward and clunky to fat and boxy.
for 699 (or less) I'm a player. Looks real good to me.
The CZ Shadow 2 is designed specifically for USPSA's Production Division. Single action guns are not allowed in Production and there is no division in USPSA where a 9mm single action (non 1911) pistol is competitive. In short, I wouldn't be looking at this to eat into CZ's market for the Shadow 2 at all.
I really like this pistol and I wish it had a place in USPSA. I'd probably be shooting one if it did--the BHP is an excellent pistol.
You could be blindfolded sitting in a pile of semi autos and when your hand found the BHP you would know it instantly!

Did they call it a High Power because of the double stack magazine?
If they can make an accurate barrel for it properly throated it should be a winner.
