Gas Check Problem
I am in the process of breaking down about 50 rounds of cast 30.06 and have had some gas checks pull off and fall down into the cartridge. Does anyone have a solution for getting them out? will the primer have enough energy to pop them out if fired? Thanks, Don

I assume you have all the powder removed from the case. Turn the case so that the case mouth is down. You should be able to reach the checks with a heavy-duty pair of tweezers, forceps, or a small pair of needlenose pliers. Just pull them on out, it shouldn't take much effort at all. If they're stuck in the case neck, you'll probably need to push them into the case with a small screwdriver, then try the tweezers or whatever.

Hemostats.
(Thats the things that look like tweezers that lock.)

ditto hemostats. If you try the primer thing point gun down and fire just the primer NO powder into a bucket of water. That way you can see if it got out of barrel

Thanks, the hemostats worked great, don't know why I didn't think of it.
