Use the load data for the next heaviest bullet, and work up from there.
Thank you for the reply, was going that route, but just thought someone had experimented/worked up a load for this weight! To the bench!
Always remember, you can always use load data for slightly heavier, similarly constructed boolits.
Also remember, with a stubby cartridge that works at 65,000 psi ; watch out for how much shank is in the case. Even a lighter bullet can have more depth. Pressures rise fast !!!
Been there, done that; prob still have the dowel I used to pound out the cases. haha
Chronograph
Now that is an interesting thought to consider, thanks for that! I did buy a chronograph and plan on using it once PA. snow leaves. I shoot and load for 9M/M .357, 41 spec. 44 mag. .45ACP .460 S&W and now the .500S&W. My last shooting session I set up my iPhone to record 5 shots with the .500, 440 Gn lead and jhp. My shooting shed is 6'X8' wood with steel sheeting sides, and you can actually see the building shake during firing, what a rush! Thanks to all for there information!
