Very interesting, I am also eager to find out if it makes a difference. I have been using a Ransom Rest since the early 80's and am a believer. Looking at the pics, looks like you are scrapping the factory trigger actuator. My only gripe is the trigger actuator. It puts side thrust on the trigger, I believe because of the slop and flex in the design. I saw a fellow using one with a cable actuator that clamped to the trigger guard of the pistol being tested. One of these days maybe I'll come up with a contraption to do that. It doesn't seen to be a problem unless I am testing one of the polymer frame pistols although its probably affecting the others as well. As you ease down on the actuator you can see the muzzle deflect to the side.
