I was prowling my LGS yesterday and spied a 4lb jug of Unique for $69.95! Just mu luck, a deal on powder that I don't need. I would love to think this is a harbinger of prices to come, but I'm not holding my breath.

I would have bought it anyway. That's why I'm always broke.........
I would have but during the Obama yrs, all I could get my hands on in that range was Accurate #5, so I put my guns on a diet of that.
I'd have bought it too.
;)
IMO, You should go back.
;)
Buy all they have at that price. If there is something that be loaded outside the big magnum with it im sure what it is
I would have grabbed it too.
Its got a pretty broad application.
I've always liked it for 9mm & .45ACP. It does a good job, and if you ever double charge a case, it more or less over flows it.
"A powder that I don't need ..." WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY? Bite your tongue and buy it anyway!
:kidding:
I showed them at the LGS when they had 1/2 price sale on powder!!!! I didn’t NEED 4 more pounds of Unique, but did I let it pass ? Heck no, I didn’t! $13.48 a pound for fresh powder. Uhhh, yeah. And if they put the rest of it on sale at half price, well, I won’t need any more powder ,period! Nor will any of my reloader friends either.
Just sayin
Fresh powder, stored correctly, will let you enjoy it for years to come after you burn up your present stockpile .
Let's see Unique works in every pistol cartridge known to man with every bullet , cept' maybe Barnes . It works in almost every rifle cartridge , at the risk of turning everything into a neck up/down 30/30 or 45-65 . It's a staple of the 12, 16 , and some 20 gauge lead loads up through 1 1/8 oz 12 , 1 1/16 oz 16 and 1 oz 20 game loads . You get something between 2,000 and 280 per lb and it's best buy at Midway for 19/lb plus shipping in 8# cans and you balked at $17+ tax ? Buy 2 4# and dump them together seal it up and be happy when it's back up to $30/lb when you can get it in 2026 .
I have 3 4s of one lot open and an 8 sealed and when the 1968 keg is empty the 3 partial 4s are going in that unless the emptied 4350 is the same size as the 8# Unique .
sure beats cabels price, 40 bucks a pound, I left it on their shelf. if I found it for the price you say the entire shelf would follow me home.
Never too much powder or a powder I can't use except maybe something for the 50 BMG that I don't have anyway. The last Unique I bought was not factory fresh but it was $10 a pound! I added it to the stash I already had of the 15 pound keg for $75 out the door at the big Tulsa gunshow many years ago now. Properly stored powders will last a lifetime. Primers also fall into the same category, buy plenty and store them properly. Unique at that price is a good buy today! Buy it you will find a use for it.
You made a mistake not buying it. I will buy ANY powder that is cheap and can be used in the calibers I shoot.
I had never used Clean Shot and bought 35 lbs on sale.
I just bought a 4 lb jug for $86, at $70 I would have bought at least 2!
What does "need" have to do with any of this?
What did you say was the address of the gun store that had the Unique powder? :bigsmyl2: Too bad I'm in PA.
I know it was a steal, but I have a LOT of powder now and my powder closet runneth over. The Obama years broke me from being primer/powder challenged!
I went to a show recently and got a fresh 8 pounder of Unique for $134. Wasn't about to pass that up!
Zero time taught alot for how it might be in the times to follow . I am stock up and I was not short of powder or primers but stack up anyways. It was 22lr that I limited on how I use it now I am stock up on it I see what time will show on how things go.Might get more powder. When I get it new I put and sticker on it with the date I got it that way I know what is the oldest to use first. Same as primers I do the same.
