Found these primers in wooden trays in a LGS a few years ago.
1946-62.
I remember them well, the first primers I used when I started reloading was the Remington 9 1/2 in wooden trays. I like the way they were packaged back then and wish they packed them that way today. Small package and easily stored. But lawyers stepped in as usual. james
That's the way they came when I started reloading. I kinda miss those little wooden trays.
I didn't start reloading until 1968, and that was shotgun. I missed out on those nifty wooden primer boxes.
I have a still sealed 100 pack. Been kicking around the loading room for 25 years.
Don't shy away from buying primers from estate sales... Bought my first batch of wooden tray primers about 20 years ago (still have some) and have found them off-n-on since then... Bought a half dozen trays of them from another estate sale about a month ago...
Those Rem's were said to be pre-stressed and believed to give very uniform ignition from shot to shot. cool
I have several bricks of the wooden trayed primers left. As another said they are still good and get used for vintage cartridge reloads.
That is pretty cool. I've never seen any like that.
