Most excellent! Please post progress!
mate,
that looks really cool.
Im just stuck on what to do with the finish of the cannon, was thinking leave it natural, paint it black or get it nickel plated. What do u think?
That thing looks awesome the way it is, looks like stainless? If it is, I'd leave it as is.

Leave as is and let it "gently" patina.
What's the bore size? What's it made of? Hard to tell from the pic. How much that cost? 'Cause I want it's twin brother. You got a real sweat canon there man.
What you gonna hunt with it?[smilie=l::veryconfu
It's made from steel, think 1040 I forget, the bore is 1", length 18", you'll have to contact http://www.scaleartillery.com if you want a price or ClassicCannons on this site he's a sponsor
Some photos, starting of the carriage
For the projectiles this minature deck gun will fire. Will it be a golf ball thrower or lead or zinc round balls? Give us a hint on the barrel cost. Nice looking project. Robert
With a 1" bore it won't be golf balls. Not sure if there's any off-the-shelf option for projectiles. Maybe pinballs?
you guys are evil, now I want a golf ball cannon...
After these order i got going i'll have a Golf-Ball Howitzer she'll be 1/4 scale and aprox 18" by 3.5 or 4" dia i'll know more in a week. I'd like it about the same size as the 1820's 12 pdr and weigh about 30-40 or more pounds.
But in the meantime i got a Auction for the forum for a Nice 1.750 dia Napoleon Barrel so bid on her and get your project going so you can post some picture here 8-)8-)
All the fund go to the Forum to pay for the servers and what ever fee's that are needed to keep the Forum going
Thanks Austin
Somebody on the board was selling 1" round ball molds. I can't remember who.
Edit:
This is not who I was thinking of, but I believe that this company is still in business - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cannon-Ball-...item3f1cf91cbd
