Thank God some of us still remeber it.
I'm very thankful to those who were there. This nation owes it's existence to those who answered the call of duty in that time, and before, and still.
Do you see the dawn a'breaking?
Do you hear the cannons roar?
Do you see your Brothers falling,
as they step upon the shore?
Can you reach the cliffs a-rising,
Can you hope to do any more?
You chance a look behind you
And still you are close to the shore.
When the dark of night is falling,
and you here your soldiers call,
Stand tall my friend, and say a prayer,
for those who gave their all.
This is the first year of my life that I have not heard a part of the story of the day from my Dad. May those who have gone now rest in peace.
