Thompson Center Dimension Rifle

Saw a video of this rifle on a local forum. Looks like a pretty neat idea. Buy one gun, then you can buy everything needed to change to a different cartridge. The kit they showed had a 223 barrel, bolt, magazine insert and magazine.
The barrel is held in with a nut and there are a couple tools needed to make the changeover. One of them is a preset torque wrench.
Can't imagine it will be inexpensive though. I couldn't tell but I would think the bolt would have to lock into the barrel to be able to change them in this manner.

Also the scope is on a canteliver mount with one end on the barrel, then it swings over to the receiver and one screw from the side secures it there, so each barrel has its own scope.

The rifle is indeed capable of switching barrels from .204 Ruger to .300 Win Mag. Mine is currently in .30-06. The key to accuracy seems to be proper torquing. I purchased mine for $620, but I have seen them advertised foe $499. The cantaliver scope mount is an accessory item. The rifle comes with a picatinny mount on the receiver.
I purchased this rifle so I could carry two calibers on the same hunt just by switching barrels. So far it has met my expectations.
Currently I'm still working on load development, but it shoots MOA or close to it with a Hornady 150 gr bullet and Win. 760 powder.

I have looked closely at this rifle (it is a shame it is so plug ugly). I could replace a whole heap of rifles with it. Still humming an dHaaring about it. I think if they made a 338WM barrel, I would have bought one already.

I fancy a 223, 22/250, (possibly a 243), 270, 300WM. It probably won't be long before aftermarket barrels will be available I suppose.

The prices are reasonable as well. I figured out that I could get the rifle, four spare barrels (giving me 5 calibres) and cantulever scope mounts for the five barrels for the cost a rifle like a Blaser of basic specifications without any spare barrels or scope mounts. Gotta love that.

I did quite a bit of reading on these when they came out. I wouldn't expect to see aftermarket barrels anytime soon. They use an M4 type receiver and would be difficult to make without some serious setup.

The price of the new barrels is so cheap it'd be hard to justify the cost of tooling to make them for an aftermarket shop I would suspect.

Thats right the bolt locks up in the barrel, maybe a rebore, lol.

Oh my eyes! Four Fingers you tried to warn me, but Leadman should post a disclaimer at the top about the rifle. I did a search and clicked on the link and what an UGLY rifle! I guess beauty is as beauty does, but I just can't do it. It's a three bagger for sure!

Maybe a custom stock might improve things. It is a bit light and gets lively in the bigger calibres apparently. A tad mor weight would hold it down a tad.

Can't do much about the strange looking barrel 'nut' and Buck Rogers style cantilever scope mount though.

The forend is pretty similar to the new style of forend found on the Edge/Axis and the Ruger (maybe others as well),but that curved buttstock is not a good look.

Great rifle to take on a motorbike or in an airplane, not so obvious.

If you want t a classic style rifle to have bragging rights for, this ain't the rifle for you. If you just want plain old good performance and reliability along with serious versality, this might just do you.

In all seriousness, I'd have to try one before passing judgement. I was not a big fan of the Encore stock look either but it sure is comfortable.

Now, if only I could buy Encore barrels for what they are selling these for.
