I have a alloy with 1.58% tin and 1.48% antimony.
I also have super hard 30% antimony, and stereo type available.
Ideally I would also like some arsenic for quench hardening.
How can I mix what I've got to get my desired 15-16bhn without the bullet becoming to hard.
Hardball, which is 92-6-2 Pb-Sb-Sn, is in the right BHN range at 16. Alloying one part by weight of SuperHard with 5.33 parts of your base alloy will give you 92.7-6-1.3, which is pretty close.
I thought I need to have at least 2% tin, for good mold fill out. I have had poor mold fill out in the past with the base alloy.Quote:

For oven heat treating & water quench hardening., your alloy is ok as is. Will take about 2 weeks for the bullets to fully harden.
Add more antimony to speed up the harding process.
I got similar results to Kevin C.
To make hardball using your base alloy:
1.5 lbs superhard + 7.5 lbs base alloy + 1 oz pure tin will give you an alloy with 2% tin, 6.2% antimony, and 91.8% lead.
you could buy a bag of magnum lead shot, it has a high amount of arsenic. water dropped idk how hard it is but its very tough stuff

Try simply water quenching the bullets in cold water right out of the mould. If done correctly that is already an excellent alloy that will give a BHN in that range.
