45 acp from 40 brass (.451 diameter)
Ok, I got all my stuff back from a good friend with a shop and a lathe. He turned me a very nice big handle for my rock chucker and helped out on making my dies better. Today, we played around with the settings and whipped up some very nice 45 Acp bullets for my 1911. He took 8 home to test out so I am waiting for his report on how these did for him. These are weighing out at 216-19 grains. I used a mini chop saw from harbor freight that my friend modified to cut the 40 cases down. I was afraid that the cases were too long and would seat too deeply into the 45 case. The way we have done these, I have a bit of a lead nose hollow point. These things should be great for plinking!! Won't hear any complaints from me!! Here are some pics, hope they work out well....
