I have heard that you cannot use cast bullets in an AR-15 is this true? what if you electroplate the bullets? is there an easy solution?
I reload my .223, but would like to cut my $/round if I could without ruining my barrel
Thanks!

I shoot cast in my AR all the time.
they say that because of the gas port. after you run a few hundred FMJs thur and remove any burr that may have occurred when boring the port you can shoot cast thru.
All a bunch of Hog-Wash. From some great info, that no one tried. Bottom line cast n shoot. Lot of good threads here on the subject.
Wouldn't own one if it couldn't shoot CAST BOOLITS,and I've acumulated 5 somehow:castmine:.Also,in my Garands and M14s,who da thunk it.
Will admit that 22cal.gas checks are a challenge some times for old beat up hands.
Just type "AR cast" into the "google custom search" window
There are hundreds of threads filled with experiences, and success, many tips, hints and tricks.
